Here's why:

The Ptolemaic model is not accurate and this is because the model is geocentric. This means that this model was developed with the assumption  that the Earth was the center of the universe and the sun and the planets revolved around it. Science has already proven that this is not true.

This model was developed by Claudius Ptolemy.
