1) choose a bank, with input from her parents
2) decide how much money to put into this new account the first time
3) find and take along to the bank some identification, such as a drivers licence, a piece of mail addressed to you, a passport, etc.
4) ask at the bank for the form necessary to apply to open a new savings account.
5) follow the clerk's instructions.
