to find out the area you need to make the denominator of each fraction (the lower number) to do this you need to times the numerator and denominator of the equation 3/4 by 3 so that the denominator of each fraction is 12. this makes the sides 1/12 ft and 9/12ft. you then need to times the numerators together to make the answer to the equation. you keep the denominator the same. 1 X 9 = 9. this means that the answer to the area of this rectangle is 9/12ft. hope this helps
